The Perfect Pair | 2014 Blogger Challenge

Hello lovelies! I do apologize for this past Sunday's post or lack there of, I should say. Things have calmed down a bit since then and I'm on the straight and narrow again...trying to be anyway, trying very hard. Enough rambling, for Topic 15, we were to come up with the perfect pair which could be anything. I found it quite difficult until it hit me! My MAC Mineral Moisture SPF 15 Foundation and my Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer are a match made in heaven!

If any of you have seen my May monthly favorites on my YouTube channel, then you'll already know a bit about these products. When I first used this MAC foundation, I found it to be far too dewy (nearing sweaty territory) for my liking, however I carried on because I was not going to let this be a waste. Seeing as I love Rimmel's foundations, I thought I'd give their primer ago and it seriously made the biggest difference my  foundation finish and lasting power! The foundation paired with the primer creates a perfectly natural and slightly dewy finish and lasts relatively well throughout the whole day!

The foundation is a slightly runny consistency and is light to medium coverage. I use the shade NC35. I've almost used up all of this foundation and I'll admit, though I'm sad to see it go, I'm quite excited to try something new. This was a good foundation, but I wasn't in love with it, especially on it's own.

The primer is perfection! No pun intended. It's a creamy consistency colored a light orange but blends out colorless. It makes my makeup last longer, it feels nice and smooth on the skin, it doesn't break me out or make me overly dry or greasy, it's just absolutely amazing. I have nothing bad to say about this product and I'd quite like to try the "Pro" version that Rimmel also offers. :)

That's all for now! Be mindful and happy, my lovelies! Xx

My Favorite Films | 2014 Blogger Challenge

Hello beautiful people of the interwebs! So I'm going to combine my Sunday/Monday post with the current 2014 Blogger Challenge post which is about films. :) Our favorite films, films we hate, anything related to films! I have always had an extreme love for films because they're a nice little break from reality and films can evoke so many emotions. I love when films have amazing cinematography and interesting characters and I think screenwriters that use unique language in their dialogue are the most intriguing. One of my favorite screenwriters/directors is Ryan Johnson who I believe is most well known for Brick and Looper which both star Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Side tracked, anyways I'm going to be writing about one of my favorite films from each genre.

ACTION

My favorite action film is definitely Transformers! I absolutely love Shia LaBeouf and Josh Duhamel, they're two of my favorite actors of all time! I also love Megan Fox; oddly enough, I didn't like her AT ALL for a very long time, but she's really grown on me the past few years and I actually love her in the film. I love that her character isn't the typical damsel in distress female, she actually contributes to the plot of the movie. The cinematography is fantastic, the effects are obviously amazing and the Autobots looked so cool! What I really love about the film is that it's not a typical macho action film, it has heart and comedy and the characters are very well developed and the relationship between Sam and Bumblee is very touching. Awesome, awesome film!

HORROR

This was quite a difficult category for me to choose from because I've seen so many horror movies, being a horror movie enthusiast and because a large majority of the horror films I've seen are pretty terrible. Lol I have to say, though, my favorite as far as what has genuinely scared the crap out of me is probably the latest Evil Dead that came out last year I believe. Evil Dead is about this group of kids that go into the woods and stay in this cabin and basically demonic type events start happening. It is seriously a disgusting, gory, terrifying movie! I saw it with Dalton and our other friend, Chris, and Dalton and I found ourselves leaning closer and closer towards each other and were nearly burying our heads in each other's shoulders because we were both getting so grossed/freaked out during the film! If you're not good with scary things, I would definitely stay away from this movie. As far as actually being good and genuinely creepy, but not nearly as gory is Insidious. Again, this one is not for the faint of heart, it genuinely will leave you afraid to go to sleep at night. I had to hold Dalton's hand during that one. :P

COMEDY

Rush Hour is easily one of my favorite comedies because Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are just so hilarious! Their dynamic together works so well and no matter how many times I've seen that film, I laugh every single time! This movie will have you rolling on the floor laughing, guaranteed! I also love it because it holds a special place in my heart because my dad and I used to watch it together and it's kind of our joint favorite. :)

ROMANCE

This was a hard one for me because in the past few years, I haven't watched very many romance movies because they're just not really my thing anymore, but after I racked my brain for a while I realized I love Life As We Know It. This isn't a pure romance movie (because I honestly can't really handle super mushy, gushy films), it's more of a romantic comedy. It's just such a cute film and I LOVE Josh Duhamel (he's such a dreamboat ;)) and his chemistry with Katherine Heigl is so cute. I can't explain what the movie's about without giving away the entire plot, but if you haven't seen it, I highly suggest it because it's cute, funny, heart warming, and it's just a very sweet film. The last time I saw it was, once again, with Dalton during one of our movie marathon nights back in the day and even he loved it so that says a lot, that even a boy can enjoy it. :P

FAMILY/CHILDREN

By far, this is the hardest category because I've seen so many kids movies and genuinely loved so many of them. Instead of going with the old classics that we all know and love (The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Hercules, etc), I decided to go with a somewhat more modern film and go with The Incredibles! Such a good kids film! It's funny and cute and there was a period of time where I was watching it every single day. Lol Great all around film!

INDEPENDENT

This is the only category where I'm going to cheat and mention three films. These films definitely deserve honorable mentions because they are just so fantastic for different reasons! Green Street Hooligans is about the English football scene and the football hooligans that represent for different teams and the culture that enraptures that whole lifestyle. The acting is amazing and if you're interested in a lot of badass characters and British accents, then give this a watch. :) Brick has been one of my favorites for almost ten years now. It was written and directed by Rian Johnson and there's just something about this film that I'm completely obsessed with. The cinematography is beautiful and simple and the language Rian chose was noir-esque and so unique. Of course, I've got to mention Joseph Gordon-Levitt's performance in the film; so well done and the other actors were absolutely brilliant as well. Lastly, is Dog Pound which is something I've talked about on here before and is the most recent of the three. It's about three boys who wind up in a juvenile detention center and the film focuses on their lives on the inside. The main reason I love the film so much is because of Adam Butcher who plays the character Butch and he just conveys so much emotion with very few words and once again, he is a very badass character. Can you tell I love me some badass guys? Lol Anyways, give those a watch if you'd like, one or more of them is on Netflix. :)

There are obviously other genres of films, but I decided to go with the most common ones and that is my list! I love soooo many other films besides the ones listed above, but this is a good little peek into the kind of movies I like. :) I hope you enjoyed reading this and I will talk to you all again soon! Xx
