Sisterly Love

Hello lovely readers, how are you doing? Please do let me know in the comments below! :) I'm currently doing absolutely fantastic! The reason for this amazing mood is that as I'm writing this, I've just discovered that my sister is more than pleased to accompany me to The Weekend, Banks, and Halsey concert in December! By the time you read this, it will have already been the next day, but I'm just so excited, I couldn't wait to type up a little post and share the news!

I like The Weekend as much as the next person, but my main attraction to the event is because of Banks and Halsey. I've loved Banks ever since my sister first told me about her back in January of this year and I've recently become obsessed with Halsey. I'm just loving these strong female figures right now! I'd like to include my sister in that category. She is by far one of the most amazing women I admire in all aspects of life and I couldn't be more grateful for her.

Now, about the music. We've all heard of The Weekend, so please excuse me as I skip the description of his music. LOL Banks has this beautiful, sultry voice and her lyrics really touch the soul (especially if you're female, in my opinion). With lyrics like "Please tell me that this could be easy, I'm tired of waiting for permission to love," she gets down to the depths of love and some of her songs really are quite heartbreaking. I love the realness and relevance of her songs.

Halsey is incredible. With bass heavy beats being the backdrop to her unique voice and lyrics, her songs make for an experience. I'll give a little taste of her lyrics by choosing some from my current favorite song "Colors". Some lyrics from the chorus are as follows, "Everything is grey, his hair, his smoke, his dreams and now he's so devoid of color, he don't know what it means." These lyrics are so personal to me. Her voice is just so pleasant to listen to, as is Banks and I couldn't be more excited for the concert and to be attending with my beautiful sister.

I hope something makes you happy today as well! All love. xx

What I Got Up To | May 2014

I was going through my camera a few weeks ago and came across a bunch of snaps from different days and thought I'd edit them and put them up just for fun. :) Since these photos were just random bits and bobs from the month of May and not for anything specifically, I thought it would be a good opportunity to also play around with filters more than I usually would. I hope you like them!

This was my outfit heading out to LA with friends I think at the beginning of May. I'd also like to note the DEAD pin from Oli Sykes' clothing company DROP DEAD. :)
I don't think I've ever shown you guys my fairy lights, so here they are! I'm obsessed with them!
The next couple beach-y photos were taken from a train window when I was traveling to San Diego to see my friend Caitlyn.

These last two pictures with the surfers are my favorites! I can just imagine how peaceful it must've been out on the water. :)

A candid shot of my beautiful mommy when I did her make up one night. <3 You can't see her make up, but I was really quite proud of it. Lol
Loving the new Cher Lloyd album "Sorry I'm Late"!

So there's a bit of what I got up to in May. :) I hope you're all having a wonderful summer so far! And also, I'd like to announce that I'm finally using my YouTube channel more and I'm actually uploading every Wednesday now! It would mean a lot to me if you all go and check out my channel and maybe even subscribe if you want! Ta for now! Xx

Christmas Eve: Family Dinner and Opening Presents!

Merry Christmas everyone! I had a lovely Christmas Eve; my family and I went to Ruth's Chris, who have the most amazing steak, and then came back to my house to open presents. I am pleased to say that everyone liked what I got them which makes me very, very happy. :) Here are some photos from the night, enjoy! PS - At the end of this blog post, there are some photos and descriptions of my gifts; I am in no way trying to brag, I just thought I'd share the gifts I got as I love them and think they're all so lovely. I know that I am truly blessed in more ways than one and I appreciate and the love and gifts i received from my family and friends!

Our hostess was so sweet! Our parents told her that it was mine and my sister's
birthdays a few days prior and they sprinkled these all over the table. :)

So sweet!
<333333
This is where the gifts begin, so if you'd rather not see what I received, please refrain from scrolling any further. :P I love everything I got from my friends and family and I feel so very blessed for a million different aspects of my life. <3

Sephora by O.P.I Top Coat
Essie Nail Polish in Bazooka (coral, orange-y, red)
and Parka Perfect (light blue, grey)
These are the first O.P.I. and Essie nail polishes I've ever owned! Very excited to use these!
Ya gotta love some good masks, teeth whitening products, and some gentle eye make up remover! :)
Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue in Too Cool
NYX Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm and San Paulo
Words cannot describe how excited I am to use these products! I've had Baby Lips before, but not this formulation and so far I love it (much better than the original, in my opinion). And the NYX lippies! Sooo excited! I've got no true matte products so I'm very happy to have these and I've heard so many good things about the butter glosses, I had to try some. :)
A girl can never have too much deodorant and I'm curious to try out this Aveeno leave-in conditioner!
e.l.f. Baked Eye Shadow Palette in NYC
I'm very, very excited to start using this palette! I swatched a few of them on my hand and
they're quite good quality for the price! I do always love some good e.l.f. products. :)
The above items are all from mom and dad. <3

The clothes are from my sister and flannel is always a must so I love that and I'm completely
obsessed with this jacket! I don't have anything like it and I'm in love with it already. <3
The cup is from my mommy :)
The candle is my first ever Yankee candle and it is from Dalton in the scent Pink Sands. <3
These items are from the lovely ladies at the nail salon where my mom and I go, so sweet!
There's some lotion, a buffer, cuticle oil, and a nail file.
This is from a family friend and we've not seen each other in about 10 years, but we've always
continued to give each other Christmas presents and this year she got me this lovely
Coach wristlet!
Last, but certainly not least, are the camera I got and a Tiffany's silver heart necklace that my parents surprised me with!
I almost didn't want to show these as they're quite grand, but it is my blog after all. Lol

I have no words to express how truly blessed I am feeling tonight, not only for the gifts, but for my life in general. This time last year, I was in a very dark place in my life and the fact that I got out of that, I've now been clean for almost six months, and I spent the holidays with both of my parents and my beautiful sister...I just can't even describe it. I'm in awe, really, at how much my life has changed in the past few months and how incredibly grateful I am for my family and friends that have stood by me all along and got me to this point in my life. Have a merry Christmas all you beautiful people! Xx

Christmas Tree and Lights!

So the finishing touches have been done on the tree and the lights have been put up! It's starting to proper feel like Christmas! :)

Our non-traditional, but very cute tree-topper. :)

My mom gave this to me one year and she brought it back out this year!
I think it's my favorite bauble on the tree this time around!

21st Birthday Vlog!

So my birthday vlog went live very early this morning, please do check it out. It's quite a short one this time so it won't take up too much of your time! :) Also, there's music that I used for a part of the video by a group called Mako and I'm obsessed with the song I used so if you're into music there's some incentive for ya. Lol Just three more day and school is over for the semester! Thank goodness!

Sunday Dinner with Dalton and the Fam Bam

Sorry for the terrible quality!
So I haven't had the desire to do anything besides lay in bed since Monday because Dalton got sick last Thursday and I unfortunately caught his cold over the weekend while he was here. It also happens to be exam week. Yay! I will say that I feel a bit better today than I have been though. Anyway with that little bit of info out of the way, here are some photos of Dalton and I from Sunday when we went to dinner with my family for my dad's birthday. :) PS - excuse Dalton and I, we went a bit camera happy. Lol

Yay for super posed pictures with your best friend! :P

Messing around in the car :)

Dalton looking spiffy. ;)

Mommy, Daddy, and my sister, Chrissi :)
I love my family. <3
It was such a good day with my family and my best friend! :) Lots of laughs and messing about and my dad loved his presents too which I'm happy about! Hope all is well! I'm hoping to get back on this blogging thing soon.
