NOTD | 2014 Blogger Challenge

Hello, hello! I present to you Topic 5 for the 2014 Blogger Challenge! Nude colors are in this season and I thought I'd hop on the bandwagon! :)

Unfortunately, I am not one of the gifted nail gurus, so when I can, I get my nails
done at a local salon a few weeks ago and this has been my current nail since. :)
I went for a "claw" style acrylic with a nude gel polish. This particular nude is
perfect for my skin tone; it's a mocha-nude with a slight pink undertone.

The polishes at the salon are numbered so I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is Nail Harmony Gelish Soak Off Gel in Ivory Coast. Below are some nail polishes I found online that look similar to this color.

Butter London Nail Lacquer in Crumpet
Essie Polish in Brooch the Subject
L'Oreal Colour Riche Nail Color in 600 Doutzen's Nude
OPI Nail Polish in Tickle My France-y

I Present To You...My Best Friend!

Dalton and I have been planning a photo sesh (my idea, he's not that vain ;P) since before I got my camera and last weekend we finally got around to it! There were many, many shots to sort through, but here are some of the best bits, I think. Let me know what you think in the comments! :)

I thought I'd throw in this candid shot of us walkin' back down the trail. :)

I hope you all liked the photos and a massive thank you to Dalton for being a good sport! <3 This was my first go at photographing anyone in a "photo shoot" type manner so please do let me know what you think and if you like these kinds of posts! Xx

Once Upon A Time... | 2014 Blogger Challenge

Hello lovelies! Topic 3 of the 2014 Blogger Challenge is to write about a book that we love or hate or anything really. When I first read that this was the topic, I'll be honest, I somewhat had to rack my brain. Not because I couldn't think of a favorite book, two came to mind actually; I just had a hard time because I felt that they're both from when I was too young. However, I've decided sod it, why not write about one of the books I love regardless of how old I was when I read it? :)

When I was around 13 or 14, I read a book called Skate by Michael Harmon and I absolutely loved it! I fell in love with the character, Ian, and I felt all the emotions with him throughout the book. I read it again last year and I'm still in love with it regardless of the age difference between then and now. Even though I knew how it ended, I still found myself getting locked in and needing to read page after page. I don't want to give anything away but it's a truly touching story about a teenage boy and his little brother and what they go through day to day to survive. I got so attached to the characters and that's one of the most important things for a book to have in my opinion. No matter how interesting the story is, if I don't fall in love with or really care for a character, I can't truly enjoy it. Give it a read if you're interested in "young adult drama" like I still am at the age of 21. Lol

Hope all's well! I'm looking forward to reading everyone's book posts as I'm actually looking for some new books to read. :) Ta for now! Xx
